Director of Accounting


The Director of Accounting will be a key member of the financial management team and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This position is the top accounting leadership position in the company and will manage an accounting department designed to support the needs of the global business including internal management, our Private Equity shareholder and our bank group.

The Director of Accounting will be responsible for the global consolidation of monthly
financial statements, all supplemental schedules, and corporate reporting within or outside of HFM. Responsible for the review, development and execution of accounting internal controls, policies and procedures. The director provides oversight of the K2 U.S. accounting group including all financial reporting, accounts payable and general ledger functions and ensures that all internal and external reporting timelines are met.



  • Present accurate and timely reporting of financial results in compliance with GAAP and
  • the requirements of regulatory agencies.
  • Day to day oversight of the accounting functions within the US business and
  • preparation of all related financial transactions and reports.
  • Closing of the books in the ERP system as well as within HFM, ensuring all due dates are
  • achieved
  • Consolidation of the monthly financial results of K2’s international subsidiaries
  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading change management and integration
  • activities
  • Oversight and management of the general ledger and accounts payable staff, motivating,
  • building, and growing a strong team to support the business. Will lead the hiring and
  • training of new staff required to implement Avante and in-source all accounting
  • operations.
  • Preparation and entry of all intercompany profit eliminations.
  • Responsible for reviewing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and other
  • documentation to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Coordinates work relating to both internal and external financial audits.
  • Coordinates and oversees the Sarbanes Oxley activities relative to internal controls
  • documentation and testing and segregation of duties.
  • Responsible for proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules.
  • Identify key performance metrics and business trends through the analysis of financial
  • information.
  • Assists Corporate Tax, Treasury and Risk managers.

Required Qualifications:


  • A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance, or its equivalent.
  • A CPA certificate (active or inactive) and experience in public accounting is preferred.
  • A commitment to ethical, honest and accurate financial reporting.
  • 10+ years of financial management and personnel leadership experience.
  • 10+ years of experience working with integrated ERP systems and experience with ERP
  • implementations is preferred.
  • Prior experience with HFM (or an equivalent) financial consolidation software.
  • Experience in a public or Private Equity company is preferred, with specific experience
  • developing and managing SOX compliance procedures
  • Prior experience in a multi-national business working with foreign currencies and all
  • related financial transactions of the business.
  • Be a strong technical accountant with proven knowledge of accounting policies and
  • procedures
  • An excellent leader and manager of people with the ability to attract, develop and retain
  • “A” level talent and build a world class team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and
  • negotiate decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly identify inconsistencies or variances and determine
  • root cause and corrective actions.
  • Energetic, engaged, team oriented individual who can lead and function seamlessly as a
  • member of a global financial management team and across multiple business functions.
